"It was imprudent of us, in the first place, to become authors. We could have become something regular, but we managed not to.
We were lucky, but we were also determined." Roy Blount Jr

"I don’t change the facts to enhance the drama. I think of it the other way round, the drama has got to fit the facts,
and it’s your job as a writer to find the shape in real life."
Hilary Mantel

Pretty Pink Clouds

A little less than 1/2 foot of snow fell last night.

We had to rise early to attend our town's Deliberative Session, so I was awake in time to catch these pretty pink clouds blowing across a very blue sky.

What the well-dressed garden statue was wearing this morning: a pointy cap and a shawl.

The debate and discussion of town budget and 18 other warrant articles began at 9 and lasted till nearly 3:00 p.m. There were plenty of contentious issues, monetary and administrative. On leaving the school gym, we were starving. We'd planned a shopping and dining excursion for afterwards, expecting to finish up around 12 or 1 at the latest. But we were so drained that we came straight back to the Lodge.

The Chap took the girls for a long ramble through the snow to clear his head. We're planning a quiet night of pizza and a movie--Groundhog Day, I predict.
