"It was imprudent of us, in the first place, to become authors. We could have become something regular, but we managed not to.
We were lucky, but we were also determined." Roy Blount Jr

"I don’t change the facts to enhance the drama. I think of it the other way round, the drama has got to fit the facts,
and it’s your job as a writer to find the shape in real life."
Hilary Mantel

Sunday Strolling

Featuring another of Aisling's Sunday Strolls gives me a little time to determine how to blog yesterday's events....

We witnessed and participated in something momentous, a private event with public consequences. And we inadvertently ended up on the 11 p.m. news. Not by choice!

In the garden 'tis the season of purple and mauve, with a background of green in many shades.

Spirea entwined with lilac.

Purple lupine.

A butterfly breakfasts on the chive flowers.

Cranesbill geranium.

The contrast of new leaves and old on the big boxwood.

Rosa rugosa, the first rose to bloom.
