"It was imprudent of us, in the first place, to become authors. We could have become something regular, but we managed not to.
We were lucky, but we were also determined." Roy Blount Jr

"I don’t change the facts to enhance the drama. I think of it the other way round, the drama has got to fit the facts,
and it’s your job as a writer to find the shape in real life."
Hilary Mantel

Foolishness & Feathers

Some April foolishness...

No joke--a pair of robins on the property today. Attacking the recently-thawed ground, surveying the scene from the treetops.

This marks the 1 year anniversary of my effort to lose 5 pounds. Overachiever that I am, by the autumn I'd taken off 20-something pounds, maintaining a weight that I never really expected to see again.

This morning I weighed 27 fewer pounds than I did a year ago today.

All the television news coverage from London today is making me homesick. Not the rioting part--although I've experienced that, too. The arrival of April in NH is most welcome, but having spent many an April in the UK I know which I prefer....
